Katakuchi “Water Lily”
Katakuchi “Water Lily”
A bowl created in collaboration between matcháti and nadiia. Katakuchi 片口 is a Japanese vessel historically used for serving sake, and later for preparing matcha and easily pouring tea. This bowl with a delicate clear glaze was handmade by Volodymyr Onyshchenko, a master who has been working with ceramics for over 40 years and has mastered the art of glazing. The water lily drawing depicted on the katakuchi was created for us by Volyn artist Maksym Son. This handmade object is the result of nearly a year of research into form, color, materials, and glaze. In this collaboration, we combined Ukrainian craftsmanship and Japanese traditions
Each item is individually crafted. Please note, slight variations may occur, ensuring your purchase is truly unique.
