ABOUT
Nadiia is a Ukrainian brand founded in 2018 by stylist and creative director Nadiia Shapoval and photographer Stepan Lisowsky.
The brand brings to life a distinctly Ukrainian philosophy of home, combining heritage, contemporaneity, and its own aesthetic language. Nadiia creates ceramics, textiles, objects, furniture, and accessories inspired by the traditions of Ukrainian craftsmanship.
At the heart of the brand’s practice is a meticulous and respectful approach to material and cultural research: working with archives, conducting field research, participating in archaeological expeditions, and undertaking ethnographic journeys across different regions of Ukraine.
In-depth research into the imagery, materials, and subjects of folk crafts is ultimately translated into functional and decorative objects, created in collaboration with contemporary artists and traditional craftspeople — things for the home made today, with the intention of being passed down from one generation to the next.
